The Best Marinades for Ribeye Steaks
When it comes to steaks, Ribeye is by far my favorite cut. And to make sure your ribeye is the best, you need some good marinades for ribeye steaks to choose from before you start grilling.
When I first started grilling steaks I had someone tell me about using soy sauce and just marinating the steak in soy sauce was great. From there, I started playing with adding a number of other ingredients over the years. Then I was introduced to the best bottle of store bought marinade sauce I've ever tried. It's called Allegro.
They have a number of different flavors, but it's their Original one that I think is the best. If you haven't tried it, none of my recipes below will even be close to how good this particular marinade is. So, if you've never tried it before, and your local grocery store doesn't carry it, then order a bottle of it here and give it a try.
#1 Simple Garlic and thyme marinade for ribeye steaks
Ingredients:
- 6 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
- ½ cup red wine
- Coarse salt and pepper
Directions:
- Crush and coarsely chop the garlic cloves.
- Combine the garlic, oil, red wine, and thyme in a bowl, add the steaks and turn to coat.
- Cover the dish and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours, turning the steaks occasionally. I like to put the steaks in a ziploc bag to marinate if you have them. Be sure to get all the air out of the ziploc bag so it heps marinate the entire steak better.
- Heat the grill to medium high and oil the grates lightly.
- Remove the steak from the steak marinade. Discard the marinade as you don't want to use it.
- Season the steaks with salt and pepper and grill them, covered, until they are done.
- Allow only 6-8 minutes on each side for medium rare.
