If you like Mangos like I do, then you’ll LOVE this Mango BBQ sauce recipe. I have to admit, this isn’t a traditional barbecue sauce since it does not have tomatoes or the other typical base BBQ sauce items. Therefore, it’s really more of just Mango sauce or a Mango dipping sauce. However, since Mangos are about my favorite exotic flavor, I couldn’t resist putting this recipe in here.
- 4 ripe mangos
- 4 chipotle adobado peppers
- 6 TBSP brown sugar
- 4 TBSP vinegar
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- salt and pepper
- Puree mango and chipotle peppers in a blender until you get a smooth paste.
- Pour the paste in a saucepan and cook over medium heat.
- Add brown sugar, vinegar, cumin and salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Retire from stove top and let it cool.
